If you are thinking about adding hair extensions, one important consideration is the length of your natural hair. With most of the main types of hair extension methods, you can see where the hair extension has been attached to the natural hair. Whether you are considering clip ins, loop extensions or bonded extensions, the attachment point will be visible. The way that people can’t tell you have extensions added, is that your natural hair will cover the attachment points. So the question is…
How Long Should Your Natural Hair Be To Add Hair Extensions?
My colleagues and I will generally recommend to clients that their hair is at least 4 inches long. This will give us enough natural hair to play with so that the extensions are undetectable. You will find that some salons will add extensions to shorter hair and some prefer longer hair than 4 inches. But 4 inches will give you a rough idea on how long your natural hair should be to add extensions. I hope it helps you!
