Cold v Hot Fusion Hair Extensions
Fusion hair extensions are quite a popular method. There are quite a few different types of fusion hair extensions but they can generally be bundled into two main types, cold and hot fusion.
About Hot Fusion and Cold Fusion Hair Extensions
Hot Fusion Hair Extensions: Hot fusion involves attaching the extension to the natural hair with hot glue. You can use a fusion connector to heat the glue before attaching or many simply use a hair straightener. To get a more in-depth guide to adding these extensions, check out this previous post on adding fusion hair extensions.

What Is A Skin Weft Hair Extension?
A skin weft is a hair extension method which has been around for a few years now. This extension method involves attaching a bulk weft, like clip on extension wefts, to the scalp as opposed to the hair. The hair extensions are attached to the scalp using thermal tape which has glue on it. If you buy online, you’ll often receive extra tape for removing and reattaching the extensions.

Hair Extensions – The Long And Piecy Look
If you’ve added hair extensions, the good news is you have so many options for styling your hair. One really hot look is to go for a long and piecy look. It is really easy to create this style. This is how it works:
- Start with a long layered cut and a diagonal fringe.
- Apply a sculpting hair care product.
- Style the hair straight with blower.
- Piece through ends with pomade.
