A skin weft is a hair extension method which has been around for a few years now. This extension method involves attaching a bulk weft, like clip on extension wefts, to the scalp as opposed to the hair. The hair extensions are attached to the scalp using thermal tape which has glue on it. If you buy online, you’ll often receive extra tape for removing and reattaching the extensions.
On the positive side, skin wefts look quite natural and it’s difficult to see you’re wearing extensions. On the negative side, the tape that you use to attach the extensions isn’t as reliable as some other methods of adding extensions. The tape can easily lose it’s adhesiveness and it’s difficult to feel confident wearing these extensions as you’re wondering when the next weft will come loose in public.
Some people have had a good experience with this method, but it’s a relatively new method compared to some of the other trusted application techniques. I think there is still some improvement needed on this method before I use them in my hair or clients hair again.
