How To Reduce Hair Extension Split Ends

There is nothing worse that spending a lot of money on hair extensions and finding loads of split ends a week later. If you do find split ends it is important that you trim them off as soon as possible. Split ends that aren’t dealt with will work their way up the hair (not a good look).

A leave in conditioning treatment is a good idea once you’ve removed split ends as they help reconstruct the hair. But the ideal way to have great looking hair extensions is to take a few simple steps to reduce split ends popping up:

5 Ways To Reduce Hair Extension Split Ends

  1. Don’t use elastic bands to tie your hair extensions back. Use a covered hair tie which doesn’t pull at your hair.
  2. Try to dry your hair naturally rather than using a hair dryer.
  3. Wherever possible, try to avoid any forms of heat such as hair straighteners. It’s sometimes impossible to avoid doing this so use some spray in conditioner before and after using heat. Take care not to apply any to the root area of the extensions.
  4. Don’t go to sleep with wet hair extensions…. ever.
  5. Use a leave in conditioner occasionally to give the hair a healthy new lustre. And remember, only use premium hair care products.
