There is no doubt, retro curls look hot! Pin-curls were originally styled on shorter hair or the bob. But they also look amazing if you have long hair extensions added. This style is ideal for formal evenings and weddings.
Adding Retro Curls Is Easy
- Wet your extensions (and natural hair) and apply gel throughout.
- Wrap sections into curls (about 2 inches) and lay flat against the head.
- Secure with flat pin-curl pins and then allow to dry.
- Remove pins and break up sections.
- Reshape the curls if necessary with pomade.
Pomade is a strong hold wax product which isn’t great for hair extensions so this style certainly isn’t one that you’d want to use often if you have extensions. Alternatively, you can use a strong hold styling product which isn’t as harsh on your extensions.
