Hair Extension Placement – The No Go Zones

When adding hair extensions, there are three places that should be avoided at all cost. I refer to these as the “no-go zones”. Most people know to avoid these areas, but some don’t. If extensions are placed in these areas they will either look unnatural or the bonds will be visible. As no woman wants this, it’s worth checking that you’re not adding hair extensions to the following areas:

Where Not To Apply Hair Extensions

  1. Lower nape of neck: It’s tempting to add extra length and volume by adding a row of extensions to this area which is close to your hairline. If hair extensions are added to this region, they’ll look fine once the extensions have been added. But if you want an updo, you’re out of luck as the bonds will be visible. Avoid this area.
  2. Natural part: Needless to say, adding extensions to this area means your natural hair won’t cover the extension bonds. Once again, this is not desirable.
  3. Temple area: If you have thick hair around this area, you can get away with adding extensions here. If you have finer hair, the extensions won’t look natural and the bonds will easily become visible.

As women have different hair types and head shapes, it is very difficult to provide an exact guide on where extensions should be added. But with most women, it is strongly recommended that hair extensions are not added to these no-go zones.
